On 8 September 2023, we will host a symposium to discuss the current understanding on the conditions that affect expert performance, including neurological conditions and performance anxiety.

The primary target audience are musicians in training and musicians performing professionally, surgeons, athletes, dancers, as well as researchers, clinicians, pedagogues and the general public.

The programme will include presentations and speakers from the fields of:

  • Neuroscience

  • Neurology

  • Performance Science

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Psychology

The symposium will also aim to reduce the stigma associated with performance anxiety in the general population and in professional groups.

This symposium is co-funded by Goldsmiths University of London through the Strategic Research Fund programme and by Guarantors of Brain.
